Artists Steve Getz and Carol Ann Simon Cillo combine a variety of media to create an aquatic fantasy installation at the Bellefonte Art Museum. The window gallery transforms into a giant-sized tank filled with fanciful underwater life of all kinds. Using media like glaze-fired or fired and painted ceramic; wood and metal; textiles and fiber sculptural forms or digital art prints- the viewer will experience an underwater world of creatures pulled from artists’ imaginations and installed in front of an underwater background. In a time when the world reveals one serious and traumatic news story after another, the world of art and imagination provides a way to escape into shapes, colors and designs – transporting the viewer into another world for a while in order to rest, contemplate and possible swim away from the rigors of daily life.
