TV-worthy Italian. Fresh-cut from the farm fries. Spirits from the spring. Local beers. Whatever your pleasure, youall find it here.

Small but mighty is a good way to describe local dining in Bellefonte. Not one, but two to-die-for pizzerias grace our downtown, The Hofbrau and Pizza Mia. Both offer other order-worthy items, but you have to try the pizza. Trust us, youall be back. For more extensive Italian, there are four authentic spots, including Restaurant Impossible feature Mama Lucreziaas. Lovers of a sweeter sauce and succulent steak sandwiches should check out Jimas Italian Cuisine just around the corner and down the alley.

Speaking of cheesesteaks, while in town take a drive through the scenic Nittany Valley to the Hublersburg Inn, serving up a savory menu of burgers, award-winning wings, family-style Sunday dinners and yes, cheesesteaks. Locally-owned with locally-sourced food, athe Hubiea has a laid-back, country home atmosphere and authentically delicious meals, house-made pies and other desserts, plus craft beer on tap and a full bar.

Back in town, thereas athe pub,” aptly named The Governoras Pub (for the 7 Governors born and bred in Bellefonte), Cool Beans, The Waffle Shop and Wine & CafA(C) on Park for coffee, breakfast and lunch.

Last in on the local scene but far from least is Big Spring Spirits, Happy Valleyas first distillery specializing in vodka, rum and whiskey. The unique drink menu combines fruit and herbs, sweets and even some salty options, and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with a “nice” weather patio right on the lawn of Talleyrand Park.
