The Bellefonte Boom of exciting new local businesses continues with the opening of Titan Hollow, a terrific new spot for cider, food, events, and (soon) wine! Former factory space in Titan Energy Park on Axemann Road has been converted into a place where the people of Bellefonte to eat, drink, and celebrate.
We spoke with Angela Eliasz, cider maker and co-owner and co-creator of Titan Hollow, about the renovation process. Though it was a good deal of work, she is proud of how many of the space’s original elements she was able to incorporate into the new design.
The lights around the bar are the original lighting fixtures, noted Angela, “the hostess station is the machine fronts from the boiler house. The actual walls of the boiler were disassembled and reconstructed in our space, the original blast door was relocated to be able to close off the event space for private parties… the list grows and grows.
The design is a terrific combination of past and present, and that aesthetic of creation through combination extends to the foods of Alloy Kitchen, the restaurant at Titan Hollow. The menu offered by head chef and owner Lori Sabatino boasts dishes that feature intriguing combos like French Onion Soup Dumplings, Reuben Egg Rolls, and Kimchi Mac n Cheese.
Titan Hollow is also the home of Mad McIntosh Cidery, which describes its wares as blissfully demented by nature and handcrafted through the madness of science. Mad McIntosh features both traditional ciders and ones with tastes of cherries, ginger, black currants, tea, or cinnamon. Angela promises, There is a beautiful cider for everyone, even if you think you aren’t a cider drinker.
Additionally, Titan Hollow features event spaces for celebrations of all sizes through Titan Events. Smaller rooms like the Library or vast ones like the Hall of Enchantment may be booked for weddings, parties, or other private events. Titan Hollow will also be booking their own events, with Angela noting, We are eagerly filling our calendar with live music and events so that you will never wonder what you are going to do, just come to the Hollow.
And on the horizon is the offerings of Witches Hollow Winery. Angela, who began making Witches Hollow Wine in her garage in California, is patiently working on putting everything in place to make sure her first Bellefonte vintage is a terrific one.
Though Titan Hollow is a new business, the Titan Energy Park, its location and the inspiration for its name, has been a part of Bellefonte for more than a hundred years. Many Bellefonte residents have ties to this important piece of the areas past, and Angela is dedicated to respecting this history.
“Every day that I’m at the bar someone tells me a story of a loved one who worked here, Angela told us. We want to be unique and put our own spin on things but the walls contain so many memories that we know we have a responsibility to pay homage to the past.
Angela and the team at Titan Hollow are delighted to be a part of the Bellefonte landscape. She spoke glowingly about what a unique and creative place it is and how Titan Hollow has been welcomed by the local business community. She wants to return that welcome to all who come to the Hollow.
We love being in Bellefonte. We welcome you to experience the factory in a way that past generations never envisioned, said Angela. What we offer to our patrons is an escape, come believe in the magic if only while you’re here.
