With the beautiful weather weave been having in Bellefonte, you may have found yourself walking at dusk, looking up at the stars. Well, this summer, a trip to Talleyrand Park will offer a whole new set of stars to look at. For the third summer, Bellefonte Womanas Club will host Saturday Night Movies in the Park!

Every other Saturday night, starting this Saturday June 11th, there will be a free outdoor screening in Talleyrand of a film the whole family can enjoy. The doors open up at 7:30pm and the movie will start at dusk.

Bring a chair or a blanket, whateveras most comfortable for you, and maybe pick up a take-out dinner from a restaurant downtown. If you canat get through a movie without popcorn and a beverage, have no fear: there will be candy, chips, drinks, and, yes, popcorn for sale in the park.

The first movie screened this summer will be Disneyas recent Oscar-winner for best animated feature Encanto. If you have a young child in your life, thereas a good chance that they know all about this movie, or at least theyave learned all the words to the hit song aWe Donat Talk About Bruno.a

Encanto atells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to healaevery child except one, Mirabel. Those who come to Talleyrand Park this Saturday wonat just get a free movie, theyall also have the chance to win great prizes. Youall get a free ticket when you arrive at the park, and the prizes, donated by local businesses and Bellefonte Woman’s Club members, will be awarded before the start of the film. The prizes include a terrific array of movie-themed gift baskets and restaurant gift cards, and you must be present to win.

If youad like to help in this fun event, Bellefonte Womanas Club tells us that volunteers, aincluding high school students who are completing volunteer community service hours toward graduation, are always welcome. Volunteers can meet at the gazebo at 7:00 pm to help set-up and at the conclusion of the movie to help put away equipment. We especially appreciate the help to maintain a safe environment.a

The movies continue throughout the summer with Jumanji on Saturday, June 25th, Ghostbusters: Afterlife on July 9th, Back to the Future on July 23rd, and Luca on August 6th. The July 9th event will also feature the Marin Eats food truck and their delicious menu.
