Getting out is easy in Bellefonte

Local parks like Talleyrand offer playgrounds, biking and walking paths, and picnic areas that are popular year-round, giving folks a chance to enjoy fresh air and lovely sights. Boasting nearby state parks, forests, lakes, creeks and tributaries, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a plentiful range of activities.

For starters, try hiking, mountain biking, swimming, slalom kayaking, boating, fishing, fly fishing (best in the world!), stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing, geocaching, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, etc.

Downtown’s charming, walkable streets are ideal for shoppers, with antique shops, jewelry, boutiques and other specialty stores ruling the Victorian architecture. The Bellefonte Art Museum offers classes, rotating and permanent exhibits, as well as a wide range of youth programs, including a childrena�s garden. Bellefonte is also home to the Centre County Library, Historical Museum and the American Philatelic (stamp-collecting) Society.
