Another Bellefonte residence which survived a devastating fire and still stands proudly, is located at 390 East Linn Street. The history of the property dates from 1769 when the parcel on which it stands was first purchased from the original land grantors. The home itself was most recently purchased by the Rockeya s from Mrs. Rockeya s grandmother who owned it for more than 50 years. As the couple worked through a comprehensive restoration, they stripped away more than a century of paint from wainscoating, removed several layers of wallpaper and rewired the entire house. They also used restored family antiques as furnishings.
