Even though this home was built by Ed Garman, who also built the Garman Opera House, Edgefont and other prominent Bellefonte buildings, it is usually referred to as the Judge Walker House. The property served as a residence for the Walker family from 1923 to 1974, encompassing the period when Judge Walker presided over the Centre County Court during the years 1938 through 1957. The Walkeras enlarged the house with an additional bedroom, bath and sleeping porch, which the Judge used to sleep in the maximum amount of fresh air during his retirement. During a series of restorations, the sunrise stained glass window in the stairway, several fireplaces and other original detailed have been retained.
