Joseph Ceader House

The property on which the Ceader house was constructed originally belonged to prominent local attorney James Hale, whose law office stood at the front of the plot. This 1899 house is likely the only remaining building in Bellefonte associated with the Ceader family, who for many years operated a very successful bakery and confectionery at 26 South Allegheny Street. Advertisements indicated they later adding catering and ice cream to the operation. During the 1970s, the property became the residence of Dr. Paul Corman and the office of his medical practice, Family Health Services. The 1899 carriage house at the back of the property has been converted into a private dwelling.
