Between 1865 and 1915, Isaac Miller worked as a building contractor for many Bellefonte properties including the Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church, Bush Arcade, Temple Court, the present I. O. O. F. building, Brockerhoff Hotel, the A. M. E. Church, the United Brethren Church, the Col. W. F. Reynolds home, Robert Valentine home on Curtin Street, the Warfield home on Curtin Street, and the Orvis Home on Linn Street.a In 1915, he was elected a Centre County commissioner serving in that role until 1919. Three of his sons continued the building construction business until 1936. His last construction project appears to have been remodeling Bellefonte Armory to serve for educational purposes. The decorative Queen Anne home at 456 East High Street, constructed by Isaac Miller, was presumably built for his son Harry.
