This massive property was constructed by James Harris in 1810 and presented to his daughter Jane as a wedding gift when she married Reverend James Linn in 1811. Linn served as a teacher at the Bellefonte Academy before accepting the position of pastor at the Presbyterian church, where he served for 58 years.
The property became the possession of Reuben Valentine in 1856. Reuben was the son of one of the original Valentine brothers who came to Bellefonte to start Valentine Iron Works. He made extensive renovations to the property, which stood for 80 years, until W. P. Sieg, President of Titan Metal bought the property from the Caroline Valentine estate.
