a In this traveling exhibition Kyle uses art historical research and methods of technical reconstruction to visualize the ways that Indigenous Americans have crafted fiber works for group migration and social cohesion in the pre-Hispanic Western Hemisphere. Some examples are monumental, others more intimate. All exhibit the utmost sophistication of textile making developed by the worlda s largest empires of their timea the Inca and Mexicaa to unify their diverse populations. The exhibition highlights the antiquity of human migration in the social fabric of the Americas.a
