Paulette Lorraine Berner Community Gallery – Jennifer Kane
February 18, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Sunday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until February 28, 2022
Since its invention in China around 200 B.C., paper has transformed our ability to retain and
transmit ideas and knowledge. It is also a wonderfully varied and pliable surface for drawing
and painting.
Jennifer began making works on paper as a way to transport her art in her suitcase on travel,
and because stretched canvases required more space to store. In the end, she fell in love with
paper for ita s many lovely qualities, claiming it as her own favorite material to work on in any
medium.
In this exhibit, the norms of making works on paper are tested. With inks, acrylic, and
composite gold leaf, Jennifer coaxes the materials to interact with one another in new ways to
create her pieces. From tiny to quite large, you will see a broad range of scale represented.
